Reasons that people start trying to consume an alkaline diet may be to do with weight loss but maybe not. There are lots of other benefits that we can expect. For instance, if you often feel lethargic, lack focus or feel a little depressed, simply eating more fruits and vegetables can have an uplifting effect upon your mind and body. When you you continue to eat these foods, every day, over weeks and months, the effect can be profound. You can expect to start losing weight with the alkaline diet once you have been eating more fruits and vegetables for at least a month or so. It is not so much the diet, as the change in attitude and lifestyle, that can help you to lose some weight.
